Missing Children

Have you ever wondered what happens when a child gets snatched away from their parent? Have you ever wondered why this heinous crime occurs? If yes, then you're in the right place. Let's start by discussing the statistics of missing children in India. Do you know that India has the highest rate of missing children? Around 96,000 children go missing in India each year, and do they ever get reconnected with their parents? Not at all; as devastating as it may sound, it's the harsh reality. Why should we even care about this right? At least it's not happening to us, but God forbid if it does; what would you do? Will you go to the police station and try to bribe the officer to help you? What if you don't have the money to, then what? No one in India will help you then. Money is the most powerful asset, and it controls everything. Unspeakable things happen to missing children, despite this, we don't do anything to find them. That is why I want to use this platform to raise awareness and make you care. It's in our nature not to worry about anything until it happens to us, and when it does, we don't know what to do. Let's utilize this time together to learn more about this topic.

Did you know that you have to wait 24 hours to file a missing person report? The first 24 hours are crucial; they decide the outcome of the search. A lot can happen in 24 hours; a person can travel to a different country, and the same could happen to the missing child. It doesn’t make sense that they make desperate parents whose lives just turned upside down to wait 24 hours before taking initiative. Can you imagine how it must feel? How helpless it actually is? It’s a matter of life or death for the child, and to wait for that long, how inhumane is that?

Why wait 24 hours ?

Where do the children go?

What actually happens to the children, and where do they go? In India, the most common reason for a missing child is them being sold for prostitution. Child trafficking is something that happens on a daily basis, and we do nothing about it. As I mentioned earlier, money is the reason. Sometimes, even parents sell their own children for money, and since that moment, the child loses its innocence.
